Beauty and workout Haul!

Another big shopping trip where I spent way to much. I'm trying to go shopping less which is working but it means when I do go shopping I tend to need a lot and feel like I spend a lot more even though I probably don't spend as much as I would if I brought all this over a few shopping trips.

The Body shop

I went a bit crazy in the body shop. I only wanted the Vitamin C skin reviver. But I have loved all of theses products and can't wait to do reviews on them.

Exfoliator Pad

Most of these are things that I've wanted for so long and have finally brought them. My favourite is the purse because I have been looking for one I really like and finally found one. Was also really wanting a new felt-tip eyeliner so can't wait to try the soap and glory one out.

Boots

Rimmel London 60 second Super Shine (In go wild er ness and chin up buttercup)

Waterstones

New Look

Purse

Sports Direct

I brought these hoping to motivate me more to do more exercise. I brought the weights as I wanted to work on my arms more and thought I could add theses into my current workout. I saw the bright green top and thought it looked amazing so Had to have it.

Ikea Haul

I have been waiting to do this haul for so long! But I didn't want to do it until brought my new furniture and built it and arranged my room how I wanted it so I could take nice pictures. This took a while but I did it and I'm now loving my new room and can finally use everything I brought.

The first thing I have is this candle dish Which I though was really cute and would be nice to use it for putting pieces of jewellery on that I wear everyday. I also have on it an apple scented candle, which smells really nice but I haven't burnt it yet so hopefully it nice when lit.

I never really understood by people put loads of pillows and blankets on there bed that they're not going to use because its not like loads of people go in your room. But I was walking past all the cushions and saw this Red-Orange Cushion which I just had to have. It's a colour I'm really into at the moment and really liked it so brought two of them as well as a soft Grey Cushion to go in the middle. I love them so much.

I also brought a white thin lamp for the side of my bed. I love how you can move it into different shapes and its also really bright. I also brought some storage boxes for the inside of my draws. Makes storing underwear and stuff so much easier and looks so much cleaner. I did take the underwear out before I took the picture.

I've never been to ikea properly and loved shopping there. So easy to just pick up everything as its so cheap but did managed to stop myself quite a lot.

Have you ever been to an Ikea?

Photo Diary - Fathers Day

Its fathers day today and we such a lovely family day out together. We started with a wetherspoons breakfast. Then the woman's tour of Britain went through were I live, so we went to go and cheer them on. It was so cool that a big event like that went through our small little town and it was a great atmosphere. Although there wasn't every many people as it wasn't very well advertised, which was a shame really. But it was still really good to go watch and everyone was loving it. After that our local pub had a raffle, so we went and won a bottle of wine.

Then a few drinks later we jumped on a really bus to a local steam rally fair. We had a look around all the really old cars, steam rollers, tractors, etc. I didn't realise how interesting I would actually find this, lol. Everything looked so amazing and pretty. It was really warm while we were there too, so was perfect for just chilling with a few drinks in the sun. After we got on the bus back we went for a couple more drinks then went for a curry (diet starts tomorrow).

We managed to get quite a lot in today and it was a bit of a rush at times as we had to be in certain places at certain times. But it was nice to do something a little different and it was the perfect weather for it. Let me know how you've spent your fathers day?

Had to add this dodgy picture of me and my brother

Rimmel London 60 Seconds Super Shine by Rita Ora - Tangerine Tent

I have completely fallen in love with the Rimmel London 60 Second Super Shine by Rita ora in Tangerine Tent. Its so bright and the perfect colour for summer. I used to be obsessed with dark blues and purples all year around but have recently ventured out into more summery red and orange colours and they suit me so much more. I like that its matt, but also has a nice finish. I find that some matt nail varnishes have a really dull finish which I don't like. Its really long lasting and dries really quickly. I had this nail varnish on for 5 days now and it hasn't chipped or anything, which is really good for me because usually its hardly lasts a day before getting ruined. The rest of this range had some beautiful bright, summery colours and I can't wait to go back and get some more.

I have a couple of Rimmel nail polishes. But its never the brand I normally go straight for so might have to start looking there as there really nice to use. Also, How cute us the bottle, so simple and pretty. Let me know what your favourite colour to wear in summer is?

current favourites #2

I thought it was about time for another favourites. I think its been about two months since my last one (here). There been quite a few new things that I've been loving so was hard to get down to 10, but it happened so here it goes...

Garnier BB Cream - I think I might have mentioned this product quite a few times on my blog. But I just love it so much. Perfect coverage over the summer months.

Real Technique Travel Essentials - I've never really been massively into what kind of brushes I use to be honest. But you can really tell the difference quality brushes make. I purchased them recently and I've been using them ever since (check haul out here)

Nina Ricci Ricci Perfume - My mum brought me this back from her holiday and it smells so nice. I'm not going to try and describe the scent., but its perfect for going out in the evening.

Sleek I-Divine Eye Shadow Pallet in Au Natural - I've been loving this pallet so much recently. Theres so many pretty colours and I've been loving experimenting with different looks.

Collection Lasting colour Lipstick in Mango Tango - This lipstick is really long-lasting, pigmented and moisturising. Its my perfect orangey summer shade.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss in 08 - This is my goto lipstick! its a darker nude colour and it is so long-lasting and pigmented. I also like that its a matt finish.

Twinings Camomile tea - I've recently been struggling to sleep at night and these is amazing for making me sleepy. I drink it every night now. I actually like the taste of it as well as before I tried it I was told I probably wouldn't like it so I was surprised that I actually did.

Vosene Original Dandruff Shampoo - I've not really got dandruff but I have had a dryer scalp recently and this shampoo has really help moisturise it as well has make my hair soft and shiny too.

Watch - I love this watch. My boyfriend surprised me with it because I told him I broke my old one. I wasn't expecting it at all as it was only a brief conversation but it was such a lovely surprise and I love it so much

Maltesers - I have just been addicted to theses at the moment. There so yummy and worth the 10 minute drive to go get them!

Let me know what your favourite thing is at the moment? :)

Empties #1

Over the past couple of months I have been collecting everything I have used up because I really wanted to do an empties post. I love watching these videos and reading this posts. I find they give the best reviews because you know if someone enjoyed using it and want to repurchase it again. So I thought I would start giving them ago.

Garnier BB cream - This is my favourite BB cream. I didn't really appreciate it until I started buying others and this one is by far the best! I have brought another one already and using it daily over summer

L'Oreal super liner superstar - I was really disappointed with this. It gave a really faded black line, was pretty much gone when I got home and it dried up really quick. I used it as a base under my liquid liner but got fed up of using it in the end. Wouldn't buy it again although I found it really easy to use so will look for another pen eyeliner.

L'Oreal miss manger mascara - I love this so much. It makes my eyelashes really dark and dramatic without having to put 10 layers on. It's my new goto mascara and have already got another one.

Garnier micellar cleansing water - Love using this to take my makeup off. This was my first bottle and am how a good way through my second one. So easy to use and doesn't irritate my skin.

Boots soltan sun cream - This was in my bag for the last two summers and I decided to finally try and use it up. I think it lasted about two sprays before I used it up. I don't know why I kept it all this time. It was ok but I tend to just buy whats on offer.

Sure fast drying deodorant - standard deodorant. Usually buy this brand or something similar. Again, I just buy whats on offer with deodorant as long as its a brand I trust. Don't want to risk being smelly.

Neutrogena hand cream - This is the only hand cream I have found that works! Most others just make my hand feel really irritated. I will be using this again over winter but for summer I'm trying to get through some of my other hand creams while my hands aren't as dry.

Bastiste blush dry shampoo - My favourite and goto dry shampoo. This smell is my favourite.

Pantene breakage defence conditioner - I thought this was a pretty standard conditioner. I didn't notice a massive difference to my hair but if it was on offer I'd buy it again.

John frieda conditioner - This was a conditioner that was in my hair dye box. I find they make my hair super silky but they always smell really weird so like to get rid of them quick as possible.

Simple baby wipes - I find baby wipe so handy to clean up any makeup spillage's for cleaning makeup off your hands. I'd buy these again because they don't smell like baby wipes. I don't think they had much of a smell but its been a while since I used these so can't remember.

Simple cleansing facial wipes - Finally used up my last ever makeup wipes. Probably won't be going back to these for taking of makeup everyday. But these were my goto makeup wipe so if I wanted some to take on holiday or whatever I would buy these ones again.

Wilkos cotton pads - These are my favourite because I only need one to take off my makeup and not 1000 like the little ones. I use these everyday and always have some stocked up.

Wilko cotton buds - Yeah.. There all the same really aren't they. aha.

I hope you guys enjoyed my empties post. I had quite a few more than I thought. I tried to make them all look as pretty as possible for the photos but I do squeeze every last drop of the product out so some of the bottles looked a bit sorry for themselves.

Festival Tips and Experiences

Festival season has started and I am super jealous of anyone going because I'm not going to any this year :( But I have been to a few before so thought I would share my tips and experience with you.

Take things expecting that it won't come back with you.
I lost a welly! How do you loose a welly. I looked everywhere around camp and still don't understand where it went. Also If your drunk or in a crowded area things just disappear. I lost quite a few things in my bag being in a mosh pit. I've also had a friend who's tent had been cut into and bag stolen. (my tip that that would be to not keep everything in your bag. I alway keep things around the tent so at least if this happens they don't take everything). It is surprising what you can loose.

Do a practice run of putting your tent up.
So a couple of years ago I went to download with a few friends. One called me a couple of hours before he was coming to pick me up telling me to bring my 8 man tent. I thought it was stupid but he convinced me that it was a good idea so I said I would bring it as long as the guys would carry it. We brought it and it was the heaviest thing in the world. the guys were almost in tears carrying it and it was midnight and we couldn't find anywhere to put it. luckily they opened one of the fields early so we could get it set up. But then we had no clue how to put it up. We must have spend a couple of hours putting it only half up before giving up and waiting until the morning. We were so fed up of this stupid tent by then end of the first night. So my tip here would be be prepared, know how to put your tent up and don't take a big one. Although I'm sure my friends are the only ones who would have thought that was a good idea.

Don't know anyone going to the festival?
Volunteer! I volunteered at reading festival a few years ago because all my friends were going but I didn't really want to pay for a ticket because it wasn't the best line up for me. So I found a company online to volunteer as a steward. It was so much fun and such a different experience. I would recommend it. All you have to do is pay a deposit (usually price of ticket, so you actually turn up) then when you've done all your shifts you get your money back. I'd love to do it again at a festival my friends aren't at so I'm not as temped to find them and take more advantage of meeting new people.

Go it alone!
The amount of times I wanted to go see a band and everyone else wanted to stay at the tent and carry on drinking. It got frustrating but if you go on your own you'll love it just as much. And you can get closer which I loved as your get to the big fans who go for it. I did it so many times each time I went to a festival and after the others regretted not seeing the bands they wanted to see. You don't want to miss the chance to see your favourite bands. Probably best if you going to do this to make sure you have a phone and people know where your going so you don't get into any kind of trouble.

I hope you enjoyed this post :) I've enjoyed looking back at some of the things that have happened. Let me know any funny stories you've had while at a festival?:)

Skincare Routine

A couple of months ago I wanted to start looking after my skin more and have spend a little bit more to buy more good products to do this. I feel I finally have a set routine for my skin that works for me and thought that I would share it with you today.

MORNING ROUTINE

  • Simple clear skin oil balancing exfoliating wash - I use this to wash my face first thing in the morning. I find that even though its a scrub its really Gentle on my skin and can use it in the morning and at night
  • Lush tea tree toner water - I haven't really used toner before but I do think this has helped make my skin look clearer.
  • Soap and glory make yourself youthful serum - This is the first serum I have ever brought. I love the smell of it. Its every sweet and strong as you would expect from a soap and glory product but it doesn't linger on your face. I don't really notice a difference using this so I think I will try a different one when its finished.
  • Simple kind to skin vital vitamin day cream - This is really moisturising and doesn't make my skin feel tight, which I find a lot do. It also as SPF 15 which is good for the summer.
  • Body shop aloe eye defence - This is a thick cream but soaks in really quickly. It feels really hydrating, and makes my eyes feel really fresh and awake.

NIGHT ROUTINE

(some things are the same as my morning routine so I obviously won't go into them)

  • Garnier micellar cleansing water - Probably don't need to go on about this too much as its a really popular product but I really like it for taking off my makeup
  • Simple clear skin oil balancing exfoliating wash
  • Lush tea tree toner water
  • Body shop vitamin E night cream - I love this as its really moisturising and even though its thick it doesn't feel like I have loads of product sitting on my face for ages.
  • Body shop aloe eye defence - I tend to use a thicker layer at night as I have more time for it to soak in and it feels like I'm doing good to my eyes. Even though I doubt it makes a difference.
  • Sudocrem - I used to love this for clearing my skin and it really does make a difference. I have started using it again but only on the problem areas rather than my hole face. It's really cheap to and I've had this pot for ages.

About once a week I use a face mask. I use Dead sea spa magik delicate boosting mask. I love it so much. Check out my review of it here.

I try to keep the amount of products I use low so they don't take up to much room. Plus traveling to and from uni makes it hard to keep it up. Over the last couple of months focusing on my skin care routine my skin has noticeably improve so will be keeping this up. I used to find it so easy to slack off but I always stick to this now no matter now busy or tired I am.

Let me know whats in your skin care routine?

Hair disaster! Schwarzkopf Color mask intensive lightener

I've been thinking about dying my hair for a while now and I was going to do it properly this time. Plan it all out exactly how I wanted it and maybe actually go to the hair dressers. No matter how many time I buy a box of hair dye on the spot and it doesn't go to plan I never learn. This time was no exception and possibly my worst one!

I went into the shop intending to buy hair strip! I decided to just go for it and then I would decided what I wanted to do after once I had done it. I saw this Schwarzkopf Color mask intensive lightener and just thought it sounded interesting so wanted to give it a go. I thought it was either going to turn my hair bright blonde or do nothing at all. So why I brought it I don't no because I did not want any of these results. I was hoping that it would just lighten my hair.

The dye itself I really liked. You mix everything in the pot and it's really easy to apply yourself. I did it in about 5 minutes. I would recommend buying two if you have a similar amount of hair as me because I couldn't quite stretch it out on all of my hair.

Anyway to the disaster bit.. It turned my hair a really nice golden brown which I actually really liked. It was a little patchy as I said before because it could quite stretch over my whole head. The problem was my roots turned really blonde! And that was only after 20 minutes and it recommends half an hour. I had to take it out after I saw how bad it was. I feel like the picture below doesn't show it as bad as it was. I think mainly because I've never been blonde before so came quite a shock but the point of dying my hair was to cover the roots bit make them more visible, aha.

I was really annoyed with the blonde roots as I really liked the rest of the colour. I also didn't feel the soft shiny hair that I usually feel with other dyes which I was worried about as I feel its just ruined my hair. I've left the house to buy a new hair dye and I will not be leaving again until I've dyed it again.

Yes I am an idiot for putting this in my hair randomly not knowing what the results will be and yes I will probably continue doing this as a way of dying my hair. Occasionally it works, aha. I think its safe to say that I probably won't be using this hair dye again. Anyone else had any bad hair disasters or had a chance to use this product yet?
