INIKA Makeup Review

For chirstmas (which feels like forever ago now) I got this makeup set from a brand called Inikahttp://www.inika.co.uk. I was really excited to try them out and hoping to love them as they are organic and vegan. I have been trying them out ever since I got them and wanted to tell you what I thought.

I got the nurture discovery gift set which includes a primer, foundation, powder brush and powder and then I got a highlighter and another primer separately.

inika

Pure Primer - I'm not sure about this unfortunately. I tried this and my normal primer with the foundation and it just wasn't as good as my normal one. Didnt stop it from going patchy throughout the day.

Liquid Mineral Foundation - I think this looks very natural. Its very light but my only negative it doesn't seem to work layering it up. It tends to go a bit patchy. I do like it though but I'm going to stick with using it on my good skin days.

Foundation Powder - its a very light powder and again leaves a natural look. It's slightly glittery though which I thought was a surprise and they are a natural brand. It's quite subtle but if your not to into it you probably wouldn't like this one.

Kabuki Brush - I love this because it's really thick! I like to use it to buff my foundation into my skin.

Light Reflecting Highlighter Cream - this is my favourite! I love the gold shimmery colour and it goes really well with my skin tone.

I hope you enjoyed this review! I hadn't heard of this brand before I got this and will definitely hunt down some more product to give a go.

Have you tried with brand before? let me know what you think?

Hair Care Routine

A couple of months ago I got a very different look with my hair that changed my hair care routine a lot. I got quite a high contrast ombre look, so with very light ends I knew I was going to have to take a lot better care of my hair. I haven't really had a set routine for it to be honest until I got this done but after a few months I feel like I've finally found lots of great products I want to share with you

To check out my hair check out these posts;

These are the four main products I use to wash my hair. I have my normal shampoo and conditioner. Which I like to mix up a lot but I am currently using Pantene repair and protect conditioner and Aussie Winter Miracle Shampoo. I really like them both and use them for every wash. For every other wash after the shampoo I use the Bleach London Sliver Shampoo on the ends of my hair that are blonde. I love this and find it really keeps the colour from turning brassy. Because I've used quite a bit of bleach in my hair I use a deep conditioning mask in my hair once a week. My current favourite is the Bleach London Reincarnation Mask. It keeps my hair looking healthy and soft.

Theses are a few other steps that I use to keep my hair healthy. Coconut oil is one of my favourite products ever because its so versatile. I use it in my hair before washing as a hair mask. I will try to leave it in as long as possible before washing. So could be about 20 minutes up to sleeping with it in over night. I also use The Aussie Miracle Recharge Shine Leave in Conditioner. I like to use it after I have done my hair for the day as it leaves a nice shine and feels smoother. My favourite product that I use on my hair is Moroccan Oil. I use it every time after I wash my hair to leave the ends hydrated. It really makes a difference especially when its getting to that time when you need a hair cut.

A few other bits I enjoy using on my hair are the Batiste dry shampoo. I always buy the biggest bottle I can because I love it so much. It saves me washing my hair so often which does it some good and gives it great volume. Heat defence is obviously very important and I am currently using the Tresemme Keratin Smooth Heat Protection, which I'm using because I got it free when I brought my hair dryer, but its still really good. I'm just never really fussy to which one I use. I love salt spray because my hair tends to take really well to them. If I curl my hair once it just keeps them alive for the rest of the days until I wash it again. So I don't have to use as much heat which saves my hair a lot. My favourite is the got2b Beach Matt Texturising Salt Spray.

So thats everything That I use. I don't no if its a lot or not but I don't use it all everyday. Let me know what your favourite hair products are? do you have any tips to look after ombre hair?

New Hair // Weekly Reflect 3

I hope everyone had had a good week? I've been really ill most of this week which has been annoying because I started my new job. I'm finally getting over it but its lasted quite a while. Longer than normal anyway. But I have still been up to stuff this week so this might be my most interesting week yet! (don't get to excited)

Earlier in the week I got my hair cut and dyed. I thought It was about time to got back the the hair dressers and get it done properly. I got quite a lot taken of and also got it bleached again so its higher and lighter at the bottom. Looks a lot more blended and I really like it. I think it need to leave it a while for next time though as my hairs been through a lot over the last couple of months.

I was meant to start my new job on wednesday. But I was so ill I had to call in sick! Not a great start for my first day. But They were fine about it and I managed to go in for the rest of the week. I had a bad cold as well for them days so I think they believed that I was ill.

So despite being ill, my first few days have gone really well. Lots of training at the moment but I think it will be a good job once thats done.

On friday I ended up at the Bingo again. I promise I don't go there that much, just happens to be twice in two weeks. I didn't win anything this time though :(

My parents were away this weekend which can only mean one thing!! PIZZA PARTY!! Every time they go away I make them feel bad about me and my brother not being able to eat (even though I'm 21 and perfectly capable of cooking for myself) and they give us money to order pizza. So thats been every meal this weekend.

So theres my adventurous week! What have you been up to?

New Year New Me // Fitness Goals

Every year being healthy is no my new year resolutions list. I wouldn't say I horribly fail every year but I'm still not the healthiest I can be. How can you mark it a success anyway? By going to the gym everyday and eating salad all the time. I don't think being healthy is an easy goal because where do you start? Theres a lot of different areas where we could probably improve so I'm going to try something a little different this year.

First off I thought I would share with you where I can currently.

I've always been pretty active and a couple of months ago I joined the gym. I've been really good at going and am actually really enjoying it. They do a lot of classes which motivates me to go as its a set time and also my brother and a friend go so thats great motivation to. I try to go 2 or 3 times a week, one of them being a Pilates class and the other ones will be whatever fits in with my week.

so the keeping fit isn't to bad. But the eating well is the thing I struggle with.

I go through phases. Some times I eat really well. Some times I can eat really badly. I tend to start the day well with a smoothie, have a healthy lunch then dinner goes a bit down hill then I'll snack badly in the evening. which isn't to great.

I just want to point out now that This is out now that for me this is just about being fitter and healthier. I get a lot of comments from my friends saying that I'm already skinny enough but its not about that.

gym selfie

So the point of this post.

Instead of one big goal. I want to set lots of little ones throughout the year. Things that I can focus on until they eventually become a habit and I don't need to think about it anymore.

My first set of goals are -

1.  Make Lunch to take to work with me every day (with a piece of fruit)

2. Have a side of vegetables for dinner everyday.

3. Reach 10,000 steps on my fitbit everyday.

healthy lifestyle quote

I think these three and all completely realistic to achieve in the next month or so. I don't think there difficult but I will probably need reminding everyday until they become a habit.

I'll keep you guys updated on here how it goes and will continue to make new goals throughout the year.

Are is getting heathy one of your new years resolutions? how are you achieving your goal?

I Won At The Bingo // Weekly Reflect 2

So this is only my second week and I've already fallen behind! I'm sorry but I went out saturday night and I just wasn't feeling doing anything productive yesterday. I think thats a good excuse, aha.

So this week was exciting for me because I left my job. I was starting to hate it so I was really happy to finally do my last shift. I am now moving into a full time job that is something completely different and nothing like I've done before. But now that I'm not at uni I thought it was time to move onto something a bit better and start adulating properly.

I did a lot of the boring stuff this week. Everything that I needed to get done I tried to do as I no I will now have less time to get them done. So I did stuff like going to the bank and clearing bits of my room out. I did a few shopping trips because I just had to buy some new bit for my new job. Such a shame but just had to be done.

I now feels good to have stuff done that been on my list of things to do for ages though. Above is a picture of me dressed appropriate for the british weather! It was very sunny but also freezing cold.

A pub near me do bingo sometimes so I went there with my mum and some friends. It was such a good laugh. I even one £25!!!! I was so close on every game and one of the last ones I finally managed to win. Paid for the night which was a bonus.

I also had a good night out with a few work friends on saturday night. I hadn't been out with them before so didn't not what to expect but it was a really good night. When we got out it had snowed so it was a nice walk home to.

So I hope you enjoyed this post. You'll probably start to notice that my life is not that interesting. I will definitely improve the pictures I take for this post as well. I just forget throughout the week to take decent pictures.

I hope you have a good week :)

January Birchbox

I was very happy to receive my birchbox over the weekend! This month they joined up with pinterest and they have created 5 illustrated postcards to inspire us to have the best year ever! They are really cute and are definitely going on my wall. The products they have picked are also inspired to kick off 2016 in style.

Absolution L'Eau Soir et Martin - £27

This is a makeup remover which is really good. But my Garnier micellar water does the same much cheaper.

Whish Three Wishes Almond Body Butter - £14.50

I don't think I can review this product fairly just because I can't stand the smell! Almond isn't a smell I'm a fan off so I probably won't bother using this.

Compact Mirror - £4

This is cute and will be handy in my bag.

Beauty Protector Protect and detangle - £14

I used this once and notice that it came out a weird orangey colour. Which I didnt really want to use on my blonde hair so am a bit put off to use it again.

Benefit They're Real Tinted Primer - £18.50

I don't really get the point of mascara primer. I didnt really think it added much to my mascara so once I've use it up I won't be purchasing.

Jelly Pong Pong Lighten Up Brightener and Waterliner - £14.95

I really like this! It blends in so well in the inner corner of your eye and below the eyebrow. Brightens them up really nicely.

As you can probably tell with the mini reviews, I wasn't overly impressed with this box. I didn't feel that excited to try any of the products and the only product I really liked using was the Jelly Pong Pong Lighten up Brightener and waterliner. A couple of the the products I'm not even going to use and the rest I'll just use up to get rid of them. This box this month just wasn't for me.

I have decided to stop my birchbox subscription for a bit. Not because I wasn't a fan this month but because I would really like to try other services but I can't afford them all. I'm also trying to declutter my stuff and getting 5/6 new products every month isn't helping, aha. I have already subscribed to my next box which is very different so that will be up next month if your interested.

If your thinking about signing up to birchbox I would 100% recommend! There postage is really quick and Even though they advertise getting 5 products I think I've always got 6 in the  7 months I've been subscribed.

Have you got this months box? Let me know what you thought.

Weekly Reflect #1

A blogging goals this year was to add more personal post into my blog and one of the ways I wanted to do this was by doing weekly reflects. I love reading other peoples and think I will enjoy looking back on them to.

I'm not sure how they're going to turn out so we will just have to see how it goes.

So this week the january blues has definitely hit me! After a busy few weeks around christmas its been hard to get back to reality. So we are starting this series off with a really boring week!

I did to a lot of over time at work over christmas so it was nice to go back to my normal hours. Even though it won't be for much longer because… I'VE GO A NEW JOB!! I dropped out of uni in september and some people have been really unsupportive about it. So getting a full time job so I can start adulting probably has made me feel so much better about it. Its not the most exciting job in the world but I feel like its a bit of experience that can get me going into some sort of career. The main worry I've had since leaving uni. This has made me feel so much better about this year already.

So surprisingly I could still afford a night out after christmas. And its was a good night. Apart from I lost my MAC lipstick and my Fitbit which I am soooo gutted about! I only got them both for christmas so I'm really annoyed with myself. I'm hoping to replace them both as soon as possible because I loved using them both so much.

This week has mainly been filled with getting the boring stuff done that I've fell behind with since christmas. Not the most interesting of weeks. But I think 2016 has started well. Hopefully we can start as we mean to go on and it will be a good year.

I hope you have enjoyed this post. Let me know any feedback you have so I can make these more interesting for you. I'm sorry that there isn't any pictures but I completely forgot about doing this but didn't want to miss the first week. Lots of pictures will come next week.

I hope you've had a good week :)

December Empties

I have another empties today which it feels like forever since I did my last one. Everything here has been used up in December and I am quite impressed with how much I've finished. Everything seemed to go at once though which is so typical which meant I had to go out and replace everything. Always seems to be the way. I have done a little review for each product so if your interested make sure you keep reading.

Pantene Colour Protect Shampoo - a nice shampoo thats also cheap and usually on offer so will probably buy it again

L'Oreal Elvive Fibrology Thickening Shampoo - I didn't get the hype of this. I was an ok shampoo but I didn't notice that my hair was thicker. was probably won't go for this again.

Schwarzkopf got2b Heat Protection - this is nice and would buy it again when I've finished the one I've got going now.

Parlor Moisturising Sea Salt Spray - I got this in my birchbox ages ago and really liked it. It was a couple of months ago I got it so it has lasted a while.

Bleach Reincarnation Mask - I've used to of these from hair dye packs I've used. They do do these in full size and have already brought one as they are so moisturising to my hair.

Rimmel London Fix and Perfect Primer - This is the normal drugstore primer I normally go for. I like it because its a nice creamy one which is easy to apply and moisturising.

Rimmel London Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner - I do like this one but normally use an eyeliner pen because I fine them easier to use so not sure I'll buy this again.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - This is one of my favourite and have already repurchased.

Impulse Sweet Smile Pear and Jasmine - This is a spray that I kept in my bag. I do like theses as they smell nice and are cheap but I have a few more to get throughout because I buy another one.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Night Cream - I use this night cream every night and have got through quite a few of these and already have another one.

Nivia Peal and Beauty Deodrant - I like this one because I like the smell. it smells fresh but also has another scent it to which is a bit different to what I normally use.

Dead Sea Spa Magik Delicate Boosting Mask - My favourite face mask!! I'm so gutted that its finished and will definitely but it again.

I hope you have enjoyed this post! I am going to try and keep up with doing them monthly this year so there will be a lot more if you like these types of posts.

2016 Goals

I love making new years resolutions or goals for the new year. Even if I don't manage to do them all I like having things to look forward to and achieving things. I have both personal ones and blogging ones this year as I have enjoyed blogging so much more than I thought I would and can't wait to see it grow even more this year.

Personal Goals

Travel - since leaving uni last year I've wanted to just experience so much exciting thing so this year I want to travel as much as I can! I have a lot of ideas so can't wait to put them into action.

Give up meat - This is something that I've gradually been doing over the last few months but I would like to officially say at some point this year that I don't eat meat! it just makes me feel so much better when I cut it out.

Save save save! - This kind of goes with the traveling as I kind of need money for that. The parts of the year when I'm not traveling I need to be saving as much as possible.

Make more effort making plans with people - I kind of get a bit bad at this sometimes and assume that people are busy if I don't hear from them. But never think to give them a text and see if they are free myself. Need to get better at this.

Go to a festival - I used to love going to reading and download festival but haven't been for a couple of years. So because I no its not something I will enjoy forever I would like to get a couple more in this year.

Be able to touch my toes - I feel like this sounds stupid. But I really can't do it and now that I've started doing classes at the gym I look so pathetic compared to everyone else. So if I can do it by the end of the year I'll be happy.

Blogging goals

Followers - Get 500 followers on Twitter and Bloglovin

Improve my photos - I think to do this at the moment I need to spend more time setting up to take the photos. Spend a bit more time on the background and lighting will improve my photos massively.

More personal content - I have been loving creating more personal lifestyle post recently so would like to carry on more in this direction. I enjoy taking pictures out so would like do more photo diaries. I would also like to do weekly reflects to share my week with you all. I think it would be good to look back on.

So I have 9 goals altogether. I think they are all achievable and look forward to ticking them off. I will do an update to see how I'm doing half way through the year.

Have you got any goals for 2016? I'd love to know what yours are?
