July Birchbox

Late last month I decided it was finally time.. Time to get my hands on a birchbox. I have read lots of reviews on these and other subscription boxes and this one was the one I wanted. The package came really quick and I thought the bag was really cute and great to take on holiday. I know this post is a bit late but I really wanted to get it up as its my first one and want to share my first impression of it. I have tried out all the products so carry on reading for my opinion of the box and some mini reviews on the products I got.

Balance me congested skin serum - £16

I've used this a few time and I haven't been won over buy it yet. I have used it a few time over my skin were I am prone to breakouts and it hasn't made a blind bit of difference. But When I use it directly on a spot it did reduce it a lot. I have only done this once though so I am going to try using it more this way. But I don't think I will be buying it in full size.

UNANI Allow vera gel - £15

This says it can be used for burns, blemishes, eczema, bites and shaving balm. I have only used this for bites, which I thought stopped itching and got rid of it quickly, and as a shaving balm, which I thought didn't really do anything more than a normal moisturiser does. I really want to try using this as an aftersun and for blemishes though which I haven't tried yet so will keep you updated on how that goes. At the moment this feels like the one I would most likely buy in full size.

Pop Beauty eyeshadow trio in peach parfait - £15.50

I love this pallet. There so pigmented and long lasting. The colours are really shimmery though which I didn't think I would be a fan of but I think they're really pretty for the summer. Unfortunately, one of the colours broke while being posted which was a shame, as it was a the lighter one which looks amazing as a highlighter under the eyebrow. But I think I left it to late to contact birchbox so I don't no if they would have tried to sort it out for me or not.

Benefit Cosmetics dream screen - £25

In all the reviews I have read this month about this I've read the same thing about this and I feel the same. I don't really need SPF 45 in England. I also have SPF in my moisturiser and foundation so am not going to add this to my skincare routine but I have tried it and its feels nice and not sticky like normal sun screen. I'm not sure how Im going to use it up though. I'll probably just take it on holiday with me to use on the beach.

Parlor by Jeff Chastain moisturising sea salt spray - £17

First time I tried this I hated it and was so disappointed because it made my hair feel gross and crunchy and I hated it and it look forever to brush it out. I don't no what happened after that but using it the second time I really liked it. There is a slight crunchy feel but I decided I liked that because my freshly washed hair is so soft and has no texture so I love applying this to add some waves. Does this even make sense? either way I'm loving it.

Pura Vida Lace headband in Aqua - £11.40 (pack of 8)

This looked cute. But I don't wear stuff like this in my hair so I'm not going to get any use out of this.

It probably doesn't seem like it. But I was actually pretty pleased with this box. When I first opened it I was excited to try out all the products and even though I didn't like some of them, I enjoyed trying new products out. My favourites were the sea salt spray and the aloe vera gel. I told myself when I brought the first one I would try at least a 2 or 3 but going on this one I really like it.

Did you get julys Birchbox? Let me know what you thought? x

Top 5 Favourite Hair Products

I recently been working on making my hair look healthier and growing it longer. I don't really have a set hair routine at the moment but I do have my favourite products that make my hair feel and look a lot healthier recently. Today I thought I would share with you my top 5.

Batiste dry shampoo in medium brunette - Who doesn't love Dry shampoo. Its so handy and don't have to wash my hair everyday any more. I've recently gone onto the brunette one and its so much easier to rub in and doesn't make my roots look dull which The other ones can sometimes do

Garnier Ultimate Blends the marvellous glow oil - I use this to rub in to my ends after washing my hair and in the morning to make them look less dry. It make my hair look so much more heathy and its quite cheap and lasts so long compared to others.

Tony and guy Nourished Reconstruction Mask - I use this once a week and it makes my hair feel so soft and silky.

Vosene Original Dandruff Prevention Shampoo  - I like using this because I've been having a dry scalp recently and this has helped moisturise it and makes my hair feel really clean.

TRESmme Curling wand - I rarely use heat on my hair anymore but when I do I use my curling wand. I love loose curls and they also last until I next wash my hair which can be 3 or 4 days.

Whats your favourite hair product?

WOMF: Summer Date

I met up with my boyfriend for the day and I wanted to make a little effort in my makeup but as it was so sunny I didn't want to go over board and cake it on. I choose to go quite bare with nude pink lips but with a brown smoky eyes. I liked that it was very natural but with bolder eyes. Made me feel like I had made more effort than I actually did.

June Empties

I thought I would turn my empties into a monthly thing as I seem to get through stuff really quickly. I thought they would end up smaller but it hasn't even been a month since I did my last one. I'm not sure if its a good feeling or not because it feels like I go through stuff so quickly but most of this stuff I have been trying to get rid of for a while which feels good.

Batiste dry shampoo - My favourite dry shampoo which I alway mention and am always stocked up on

John Frieda Frizz-Ease over night repair formula - I've had this for two years and have been trying to get rid of it for ages as you put it on your hair at night to wash out in the morning, but it was hard for me to use as I never really wash my hair in the morning. But over the last couple of months I have started washing my hair in the morning more and have enjoyed using this. I haven't seen this around but I think if I did I would get it as it made my hair really soft and shiny.

Moroccan Oil Treatment Oil - I did love this. But it is really expensive so I don't think I would by this straight away but maybe get it for a special treat. It was so light weight and made my hair feel healthy and soft.

Got2b Dry Oil Mist - This made no difference to my hair whatsoever. I didn't even finish it as I have been using it for so long and it still feels full. I decided that I needed this out of my life as I don't like putting stuff on my hair that doesn't make a difference, so time to get rid!

Imperial Leather Body Wash in Plum Blossom and Violet - It smells nice. Its a pretty standard shower gel, I would buy it again if I was shopping for shower gel and this was on offer but it was nothing special. I am preferring the foam ones at the moment.

Yankee Candle Amber Moon - This is my favourite candle ever! Not just because it has my name in it but also but it smells amazing. I want to buy another one as soon as I have enough money to justify it to myself.

Lush D'fluff Strawberry Shaving Soap - I wasn't a massive fan of this. It was great use while shaving but it was no different to anything else I use so I don't think I would repurchase.

Lush Mint chocolate lip Scrub - I loved using this as it stopped my lips from being chapped which I usually get in winter so I'll be buying this again in a couple of months.

Lush Tea Tree Toner Water - I liked using this and it made my skin feel fresh but I don't think I would go out of my way to get this again. If I was in lush and needed toner I'd get it but I don't live close to a lush so there hard for me to repurchase.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask First Impressions Review

I have recently brought The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask and thought I would share my experience with it with you today.

It's a really creamy texture which makes it easy to apply. I like that its a pot as I find a waste a lot less that the ones in a tube. The colour is a lovely bright green which I love because it reminds me of when I was little and people used to wear them in films and it was like OMG! does anyone know what I mean aha.

You leave this mask on for 10-15 minutes and it doesn't dry, so Is really easy and clean to wash off. I did notice a difference after taking it off. My skin looked a bit clearer and all the redness had gone down. My skin was a bit dry but after doing my normal skincare routine it is now back to normal.

It says on the packaging 'breakouts are minimised with regular use' So I am looking forward to seeing if this makes a difference in the long run.

After using it for the first time I do really like it and would recommend it for people with blemished skin. It is only £10 and you use very little product each so I think its likely to last quite a while and is great value for money.

Let me know what your favourite face mask is? I'm loving trying new ones out at the moment :)
